Seasonal build labs

Spatial design for young architects

Hands-on studio sessions led by licensed structural engineers. Cohorts explore bridge tension, cantilever geometry, and material equilibrium through tactile scale models.

Isometric drafting

Modular timber joinery

Cantilever stress testing

Elevation critique

Students draft 2D orthographic plans and axonometric layouts on archival grid sheets, calculating ground dimensions before touching timber components.

Builders assemble precision mortise connectors, lap joints, and tension cables, experiencing how individual members distribute collective physical load.

Assemblies undergo graduated counterweight trials on testing benches to observe compression lines, deflection limits, and structural elasticity.

Each cohort presents scale models to practicing architects, explaining spatial clearances, balance solutions, and material adaptations.

Age cohorts

Studio sessions by level

Ages 5 to 8

Junior Foundation Studio

Early builders investigate balance, gravity, and ground planes using oversized beechwood beams, compression blocks, and counterweight experiments.

Ages 9 to 12

Structural Mechanics Lab

Intermediate builders construct Warren trusses, geodesic arches, and suspended deck bridges, tracking load transfer through adjustable tension cords.

Ages 13 and up

Advanced Elevation Studio

Senior students formulate residential elevations, cantilevered overhangs, and spatial envelopes using steel pins, hardwood dowels, and drafting rulers.

Book school cohorts

We partner with classrooms, home cohorts, and design academies for full-week residencies. All timber components and drafting tools ship directly to your site.
